Cool Whip Easter Eggs

Do you get bored with doing the same method for dying Easter eggs every year? I found a neat way to dye eggs that the kids love!

What you’ll need:

  • Eggs (hard boiled)
  • White vinegar
  • Baking Sheet
  • Cool Whip
  • Food coloring
  • Toothpick
  • Paper towels
  • Spatula or knife

Start with putting your eggs in a bowl big enough to coat with vinegar. Let the eggs sit in the vinegar for 5 minutes then pat them dry with paper towels.

Next, grab your baking sheet and put a layer of cool whip on your pan and spread it around with your spatula or knife. Add  drops of food coloring on your pan and use your toothpick to blend the colors together giving them a good swirl. 🙂

Grab your eggs and roll them across the pan until your egg is coated pretty well with the cool whip concoction. Put your eggs back in the bowl and let them set for 20 minutes.

Once your 20 minutes is up, rinse off your eggs and pat dry and voila, pretty marble looking Easter eggs! My girls enjoyed rolling them in the cool whip and having fun with it. When you’re done, you could even add stickers or anything else you want. Just thought this was different and fun to try and it turned out cute! Next up, Easter egg hunt! 😉

I hope everyone has a fun filled Easter!

My Skincare Favorites

I learned early on how important it is to take care of your skin and have found the perfect products that truly vibe with my skin! I have struggled with Eczema most of my life, started in my early childhood so finding products that weren’t too harsh for my skin was challenging. But, I found them! No more burning cleansers or toners and guys, I found the BEST moisturizer ever, dare I say, life changing!

I wanted to compile a post of my personal skincare routine. What works for me, where to get the products and how to assist in beautiful application of my makeup because yes, it all starts with proper skin care! This post may contain affiliate links.

Here it is, all the items I use daily and weekly to help my skin feel and look it’s best, with the addition of a face mask here or there that I usually just get from Target. 🙂

First things first, makeup removal! One thing I don’t have pictured here are the micro fiber cloths that I am.obsessed.with! They are super soft and plush and all you need is warm water to take off all that makeup, even tough to remove eye makeup and waterproof mascara! They come in a pack of 3 and they are amaze balls, you won’t regret adding these to your routine. You can grab them HERE

Also, if you prefer makeup remover wipes, or on those days you don’t have eye makeup on, these wipes are my jam! They don’t have any alcohol so you won’t have that burning other brands give you and you can literally get up all in your eyes if you need to haha. The wipes come in a 40 count bag and you can snag them HERE

Alright, now that you’ve taken off your makeup and you have a fresh face, it’s time for the best part… cleansing, toning and moisturizing! The Tres Leches system is sooo good guys, so good! I will never go back to anything else! Again, no alcohol so no burning and drying out your skin. You can check it out HERE

Milk is an excellent skin maintenance system that will continually facilitate new skin cell generation, exfoliation, and moisture retention. Milk Cleanser Step 2: Milk Toner Step 3: Milk Moisturizer.

One thing I like to do a few times a week is use my natural jade roller. Some of the benefits of using this is it reduces dark under eye puffiness and tightens your skin. Tip: I put mine in the fridge for 5 minutes prior to using and it feels so nice and cool on my face! I use this after I apply my milk moisturizer, or you can use your favorite serum. You can get my favorite jade roller HERE

Okay, lets talk exfoliating and shaving your face. Yes, I said it, shave your face! Girl, if you want smooth and perfect makeup application, you need to rid your face of dead skin cells, peach fuzz and all the gunk that piles up your face. I use the the milk masque twice a week. I’ve been absolutely loving this product for a quick and easy fix! This luxurious, crème masque revitalizes your complexion by gently exfoliating to remove stubborn bacteria and dead skin cells, sealing in moisture, and protecting the delicate acid layer of the skin, all while clarifying tone and restoring elasticity for a refreshed, youthful glow. You can get the milk masque HERE

Next is Cure. If you haven’t heard of this product I’m here to tell you its kind of strange when you’re applying it and literally rubbing your dead skin off but it truly works! It’s the best selling exfoliator in Japan so when you get the bottle, the writing most likely will be in a difference language. It’s super cool how it works and is so gentle for all skin types, even my super sensitive skin! You can get Cure Aqua Gel HERE

  • No fragrance, No coloration, No preservative, No Animal testing
  • Natural Aqua Gel Cure is made with activated hydrogen water
  • Gentle to all skin types

Lastly, shave your face! I’ve been using Tinkle razors for years! No, contrary to what you may think, your facial hair will NOT grow back dark and coarse like a man. haha trust me when I say that once you start shaving your face, you’ll never go back! Once you see how flawless your makeup goes on without holding onto your peach fuzz, you’ll thank me. 😉 You can get Tinkle razors HERE

And lastly, SPF is your best friend! On top of my makeup, or used alone, Stay setting spray is a great option to get that SPF on your face and protected from harmful rays. It will help your makeup stay put, and an added bonus it smells like coconut heaven! You can get Stay spray HERE

If you made it to the end, thanks for reading! I’d love to hear any concerns or questions you may have regarding good skincare or product questions. Share, comment and follow my blog for future posts!

Much love,

Moms Without Theirs

Today marks my second Mother’s Day without my mom. I wish I could say it has gotten easier but it definitely hasn’t. Her birthday sometimes falls on Mother’s Day also, so we’re missing out on two celebrations for my beautiful mom, Mary. She would’ve been 61 tomorrow, the 14th. She was the smartest, strongest and fearless woman I’ve ever known and I’m so glad I get to call her my mom! She was my biggest cheerleader in life and was always there to support me in all my crazy adventures and ideas.

I find myself wondering why? Why has cancer struck my family not once, but twice. My dad passed away from cancer when I was very young. I can’t imagine the strength my mom had to keep it together to raise my brother and I all these years, but she did, because that’s what us moms were put here to do… put our children’s needs before our own. We were always taken care of and I think that’s one thing you really learn to appreciate as we get older… how much our parents do for us, how much they sacrifice to ensure their children are happy.

I can’t help but get emotional when Mother’s Day rolls around. The activities my girls put on in school, the handmade cards, grand parents day, watching grandmas and grandpas pick up their grand babies from school. My mom loved my girls so deeply, with all her heart. I hope I can be half the mother she was to me and that my girls know how much I love them, even though they might not fully understand until they’re mothers of their own.

Becoming a mother changes you. I’ve never known I can love someone as much as I do when I first became a mom. This is the picture that made me a mother, the absolute BEST feeling in the world.

This Mother’s Day, and every year that follows, show your loved ones you love them… because we’re not promised tomorrow. Live with no regrets and enjoy this beautiful life we are given. Love and miss you every single day mom. Happy Mother’s Day to every single mom out there!

Year One

One year. One year into my new business with Maskcara Beauty. Who would’ve thought that joining this new makeup company would bring me a year full of new friendships, income, knowledge and most of all, self confidence!

I am a stay at home mom to two sweet and sassy little girls ages 5 and almost 3 and a police officer wife! I think as moms, we sometimes lose ourselves as we juggle our busy schedules and life with young children. We lack in the self improvement department, an area that is much needed for our happiness! Since joining this awesome company, I’ve learned that taking care of myself more has made me a better person and honestly helps my mood. Putting on my makeup for the day, or doing my hair can surprisingly go a long way with how I feel about myself and tackle my day! Take the time to get a bubble bath in, have a glass of wine or a simple face mask once in a while, you deserve it girl!

This past year I had an Etsy shop open making children’s clothing, I also do some photography but was lacking something that was just for me, something I truly enjoyed that I could call my own. Then Maskcara came along! My friend who I had watched on Facebook open her new huge box of makeup and announced that she started working with Maskcara Beauty was so excited to get her artist kit. If you know me, I’m a sucker for pretty packaging… have you seen the stunning packaging? It was an easy yes for me to jump on board… I’ve been a makeup lover since I can remember! Being spoiled with nice makeup as a young girl truly helps me appreciate the high quality of this makeup line! Maskcara Beauty is artist quality makeup, for a fraction of the price! Fast forward to August 2017, I went to the Shine launch party last year in Las Vegas and met the top leaders of the company and the creator, Cara Brook. Talk about motivation! Listening to these women tell their stories to a huge group of artists was so emotional and special! This is truly a sisterhood that I will cherish for years and years to come.

I want this blog to be a place you can come to and take a look into my life, my family and all things beauty related! I enjoy reviewing products all around and would be glad to hear some suggestions of what you’d like to see! So feel open to comment or email me with anything you like me to take a stab at!

Thank you for taking the time to read my first blog post! xoxo
